I have an opportunity to get some wood recovered from a failed barn.  The barn was built in the 1800 in Northern Maine so the beams are hand hewn and most likely Hemlock. There is also siding which is most likely White Pine.  I have never worked with Hemlock and am wondering what it is used for other than for creating barn beams.  I have until Labor day to decide if I want to purchase this wood and would love to hear any feedback.
