Brian Mossman of Greenland, NH has considerable quantities of 1" rough sawn tropical hardwood boards for sale.  Six of the species are identified by color codes. I bought 50 b/f of the seventh species, which the U.S. Forestry Service identified as Curupay, an extremely hard wood sometimes called Patagonian Rosewood (though not actually a rosewood).

Ed - Yes, I jointed a few boards last Saturday and it was very tough.  When cut, the wood is so dense the edges gleam.
