I received the following notice from the Brian Brazil, President of the Woodworkers Guild of Rhode Island:
Sadly, Newport Nautical Timbers is going out of business. If you’ve never visited, it’s like slab heaven. They cut and surface their own lumber, so the showroom loaded with a huge variety of flitches. And they’re some of the nicest and most knowledgeable guys you’ll ever meet.
They’re holding a liquidation sale next week, Monday-Thursday. They’re available 9-5, but ask that you call ahead (401-253-8247) to let them know you’re coming. They have tons of stuff (not just slabs) and they’ll be selling it at cost. I was at their warehouse a couple of years ago and they deal with huge slabs - too large for my use but if you want to make a 12 foot dining or conference table, may be worth a visit. Website: https://www.newportnauticaltimbers.com/
