Good afternoon
We have a couple of part-time openings here in our Woburn store at the moment. A brief description below:
1. We’re most in need of a 2 to 3-day-a-week part-timer to work in our retail store with willingness to work at least one weekend day each week
a. Note: There would also be the opportunity to teach classes should that interest any applicants.
2. Retail knowledge is not required as we can teach that, but we fashion ourselves as Woodworking Consultants rather than just salesclerks (ie. We offer opinions and suggestions).
a. We have folks here with all kinds of specialties … wood turning, CNC, epoxy resin, cabinet making, furniture making, construction, general woodworking and we even have an arborist that works here.
3. We ask that applicants are able to be on their feet 8 hours a day and can occasionally lift 50lbs (generally there are ebbs and flows in the day where you can park it for a few minutes here and there).
4. Woodcraft pays minimum wage, however
a. The benefits here are a really generous merchandise and class discounts including payment-plans on our products…
b. Plus, you get to hang with like-minded sawdust makers and shoot the breeze
5. Most of the folks that have worked here for a while (me included) really enjoy the camaraderie of the group, getting out of the house, and the fact that we get to talk shop all day. It’s a really fun place to work.
If you could forward to your guild/club members, that would be great. Most of us are nearing or at retirement and are looking for folks to come in a couple of days a week to spread knowledge and earn some coffee money.
