    Hi Everyone,

I am a new member and moved up from Virginia last year.

My shop is currently in storage, and I am looking for some space to rent/share as soon as possible. I built my old shop in VA in a one-car garage during Covid and love to work with exotic hardwoods. I am very interested in building cutting boards and other unique gifts to sell for this upcoming holiday season and currently have plenty of time to do it. I also have a bunch of scraps and would love to learn how to turn a bowl.

Can anyone suggest some venues to sell some cutting boards? I’ve had great luck with farmer’s markets in the MD/DC/VA metro area and just applied to the Swampscott, Salem and Beverly farmer’s markets for a booth. Maybe some arts and crafts or country shops that would let me display and sell there? Here is a G share link to what I have https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1x4VDkiKxlO5UXeof4VD3JcLMnHtNGcJp?usp=drive_link

If anyone knows of any venues, available shop space, or how to learn wood turning, I would greatly appreciate the help. Thanks to the admins and all the wonderful members!

    Jim,

Welcome to the guild. As to venues for your cutting boards, the most immediate event is the Polyarts festival at the common in Hopkinton on Sept 9th. You can contact the chair of the HCC here to see if there is space. culturalchair@hopkintonma.gov

Let me know if you get a spot at Polyarts as the common is across the street from my house and I can provide you a place to park.

Thanks for the offer, Michael. They did not have any open slots. I did manage to grab a couple dates in the end of October at the Swampscott Farmer's Market so far.

    Have a great day!
