Registration Deadline is May 31, 2025.
Event: Friday, September 12, 2025, 6PM - 8PM
Location: Anheuser-Busch Biergarten. 221 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack, NH
My name is Joe Smith. I have been a EMGW member since last year.
Last fall, I helped organize a woodworking "competition" in support of Pink Revolution of New Hampshire. They are an organization founded by Lauren Caulfield, my friend's mother after her battle with breast cancer. They create care packages, provide gas cards and other financial assistance to cancer patients and are partnered with oncology centers in NH, MA and ME.
The competition last year went well. We had 20 woodworkers from NH and MA that all received 2 pieces of 1"x6"x12" pieces of maple and 1 piece of 1"x6"x12" pieces of black walnut. All the participants were free to create whatever they would like out of their 3 pieces and we came together at the Anheuser Busch Biergarten in Merrimack, NH to raffle off all the pieces. We had a goal of 100 attendees and raising $2,000 last year. We had about 125 people and raised over $6,000. I have attached a zip file with photos from last year's event below.
I have had many people ask that we continue to organize this event. As of right now, I have already booked the Biergarten for Friday, September 19th from 6pm-8pm. Goosebay Sawmill will be supplying all the maple again, and we have a few sponsors that are going to help us purchase the walnut. As of now, 15 of last year's 20 participants want to participate again, but I would really like to have more woodworkers at this year's event. I think a connection with the EMGW and Pink Revolution could benefit both organizations. Right now, mostly what we need is more woodworkers. We have a goal of getting 40 total woodworkers to contribute a piece.
