Canterbury Village features 25 original and 4 reconstructed buildings on the 700-acre site. For 200 years starting in the late 18th century, it was home to a large, innovative, industrious community. Among woodworkers, Shaker furniture, oval boxes, and design are well-known. Come learn more about their lives, philosophy, and contributions.
We'll be inside and outdoors during the tour, so dress appropriately. There are no food vendors within the Village, but there are local eateries nearby.
NOTE: From the Village website: "The safety of our visitors, staff, and volunteers is the Village’s most important priority, so indoor tours are limited to 24 people and masks are requested for unvaccinated guests while inside; optional outdoors."
