February Guild Meeting- Thomas Johnson Furniture Restoration

Thomas Johnson has been in the business of restoring antique furniture for over 40 years - 30 years in Newton, Massachusetts, and in Gorham, Maine since 2008.  Some of his specialities include: Brass Inlay, Caning and Seat Weaving, Replacement Turnings, Automotive Dashboards, Tall Case Clocks, Veneering, and more.  During our meeting Tom will focus on veneering and veneer repair, refinishing, and furniture repair in a way he refers to as "gentle restoration."  As he discusses these topics Tom will demonstrate various examples in his shop taking questions as he goes.  If you are not familiar with Thomas Johnson and his work, check out his website:  www.thomasjohnsonrestoration.com, and view some of his videos on you YouTube.

This meeting will be available live and on Zoom.  The Zoom link is located only in the Monthly Meeting section of the EMGW newsletter.

Registration is required to attend the presentation in Gorham, ME and is limited to 12 members due to available space.  Registration opens on February 1.

To Register:

1. Log in to the EMGW website and click the February Guild Meeting event.
2. Once in the event listing, you will see these instructions listed below the event description.
3. To register, click the Register button.  The event is displayed along with your email address.
4. Click Next.  You will see a screen with your profile information.
5. Click Next again. The “Review and Confirm” screen is displayed.
6. Click Confirm.  You will see your confirmation displayed.  A confirmation email will be mailed automatically to your email address on record.

If in your attempt to register, you see the Join waitlist button rather than the Register button:

1. Registration is full, you may join the wait list by clicking the button.  You will need to return regularly to see if someone has cancelled their registration for your admittance.

To cancel your registration:

1. Return to displaying the February Guild Meeting event after logging in.
2. Click the Already Registered link found under the button. A new window will be displayed with information about your registration.
3. To continue to cancel, click the Cancel registration button. A window is displayed asking you to confirm your cancellation.
4. Click Cancel registration again. Confirmation of your cancellation is displayed.
