Thomas Johnson has been in the business of restoring antique furniture for over 40 years - 30 years in Newton, Massachusetts, and in Gorham, Maine since 2008. Some of his specialities include: Brass Inlay, Caning and Seat Weaving, Replacement Turnings, Automotive Dashboards, Tall Case Clocks, Veneering, and more. During our meeting Tom will focus on veneering and veneer repair, refinishing, and furniture repair in a way he refers to as "gentle restoration." As he discusses these topics Tom will demonstrate various examples in his shop taking questions as he goes.
