We are pleased to have Mickey Callahan as our presenter for the April meeting. Many of you know Mickey from previous presentations and as the "Artist in Residence" at the Woodcraft store in Walpole.

Mickey will be discussing kerf bending and making tambours. Both these methods are used in the construction of curved surfaces and have the similarity of lots of narrow strips attached to a flexible surface.
Mickey's official bio:
Mickey has more than 25 years of experience as a designer and maker of museum-quality, custom period and contemporary furniture. His work has also included the making of custom architectural elements and furniture repair and restoration. He is a graduate of the furniture making program at the prestigious North Bennet Street School in Boston, MA. Mickey has been a teacher of furniture making at the North Bennet Street School along with the Connecticut Valley School of Woodworking in Manchester, CT. He has also taught at various Woodcraft stores and for woodworking groups around the country. He has written articles for Fine Woodworking magazine and his work has been featured In FWW, American Woodworker, Woodwork and Woodshop News. In addition, Mickey is the co-founder and past president of the Society of American Period Furniture Makers (www.sapfm.org) and currently serves on its Executive Council.
