Hi, Looking for information on 2 remodeling issues as I get my 50 yearly house ready to sell. Please email me, essingtonr@gmail if you have some thoughts. Thanks!

     1) I need to install a new recessed light in my shower's tiled ceiling, and my old light was 4.5 inches in diam. and had a 6.5 inch trim ring. I'm stuck with the 4.5 in opening because the old light had a metal flange between the tile and drywall ceiling. Newer lights seem to come in 3", 4", and 5" diam. Any suggestions of electrical suppliers that might carry a 4.5 in can, or other ideas. I'm trying to avoid tearing out the ceiling and retiling.

    2) I  need to replace half of my utility room ceiling, which was torn down for some project work in the kitchen above it. The ceiling is 16" ceiling tiles stapled directly to the floor joists. Can't seen to find any 16" tiles. Any thoughts, besides installing 1x3's on 12 inch centers?

for utility room, perhaps some sort of  1/4 " plywood tiles? they are not going to deaden any noise.
